Yesterday, Eurowings flight EW9395 bound for Dusseldorf had to make a u-turn back to Dublin due to a problem with the aircraft.
Information is limited surrounding this incident.

Eurowings Flight EW9395 – Dublin to Dusseldorf…
Eurowings flight EW9395 is a routine scheduled flight between Dublin and Dusseldorf.
Also, the aircraft involved in the incident is D-ABNU.
As per data from Planespotters.net, D-ABNU is a 18.8 year old Airbus A320ceo that started out life with China Eastern Airlines in November 2005.
In December 2015, the aircraft was handed over to Air Berlin, before being sent to the current German carrier in February 2017.
Of the A320ceo variant, Eurowings have 43 in their fleet, of which all are in active service, and have an average fleet age of 13.4 years.
Moreover, as well as the A320ceo, the German carrier has the following other aircraft in their fleet:
- 28 Airbus A319s.
- 7 Airbus A320neos.
- 11 Airbus A321s.
- 6 Boeing 737s.
In total, the airline has 95 aircraft in their fleet, of which all but one are in active service, with an overall average fleet age of 12.5 years.
Eurowings flight EW9395 departed Dublin at 1318 local time on August 9 and began to climb out towards Dusseldorf.
Near Holyhead, the aircraft made a deviation to join the arrival back into the Irish airport with a problem onboard the aircraft.
Moreover, the aircraft landed safely without further incident after just 37 minutes in the air.
The Cause?: Landing Gear Didn’t Close After Departure…
As per @Shauns_Aviation on X, Eurowings flight EW9397, originally bound for Dusseldorf, made the u-turn back to Dublin due to the landing gear door not closing on departure.
It is understood the fire service were placed on standby but weren’t needed.
This was due to the aircraft being able to vacate and taxi to stand safely.
Moreover, engineers met the aircraft on arrival to the stand to check the aircraft out.
Further information after arrival on this incident has been limited.
Furthermore, as soon as we have more information pertinent to the incident at hand, then we will update you accordingly.
