United Arab Emirates national carrier Etihad Airways is set to add ten new destinations to its network in 2025. This historic expansion raises the bar for travel options while strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a premier global tourism and business destination.
The new routes reflect the airline’s drive to meet passenger demands through strategic connectivity and convenient flight schedules.
“We’ve listened carefully to our passengers’ wishes,” explains Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves. “These new destinations offer everything from breathtaking landscapes to rich cultural experiences, business opportunities, and educational possibilities. Each city was chosen to fulfill our travelers’ diverse needs and aspirations.”
Neves emphasizes that this expansion goes beyond growing the airline’s reach. “We’re sharing Abu Dhabi’s story with the world.”
“Our home city offers year-round sunshine, exceptional dining, rich heritage, exciting theme parks, and pristine beaches. This expanded network makes it easier for visitors to discover these attractions.”
Historic Milestone for Etihad Airways
The announcement of ten new destinations in one day marks a significant milestone for Etihad Airways. “This achievement stems from our team’s dedication and our passengers’ continued support,” Neves notes. These additions complement Etihad’s previously announced 2025 destinations: Prague, Warsaw, and Al Alamein.
The expansion is expected to bring a substantial increase in visitors to Abu Dhabi, reinforcing its status as a leading destination for leisure, business, and cultural tourism. The initiative aligns with the UAE capital’s strategy to attract international travelers and cement its reputation as a global connectivity hub.
“Our new home at Zayed International Airport provides the perfect foundation for this growth,” says Neves. “Its impressive facilities and capacity will enhance our ability to deliver exceptional service to more passengers.”
2025: “A Turning Point”
The expansion also broadens access to Etihad’s free stopover program, offered in partnership with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism. Passengers can enjoy complimentary one or two-night stays at select premium hotels across the city.
“The year 2025 represents a turning point for Etihad,” Neves adds. “We’ll serve over 90 destinations across more than 50 countries with a fleet exceeding 110 aircraft, including our new A321LRs. Most importantly, we aim to welcome over a million visitors to experience Abu Dhabi’s charm.”
As part of this growth, Etihad Guest, the airline’s loyalty program, will expand its offerings, providing more opportunities for members to earn and redeem miles while enjoying exclusive benefits.
