Etihad Airways is set to enhance its global network by introducing direct flights to Peshawar, Pakistan, commencing on September 29, 2025.
This strategic expansion caters to the growing air travel demand between Pakistan and key global destinations.
The new route will directly link Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi (AUH) with Bacha Khan International Airport (PEW) in Peshawar.
Increased Pakistan Presence
This addition strengthens Etihad’s presence in Pakistan, making Peshawar its fourth non-stop destination in the country. It joins the already established routes to Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore.
Passengers traveling between Peshawar and Abu Dhabi will now benefit from convenient connections to Etihad’s ever-expanding network. This spans the Gulf region, Africa, Europe, and North America.
Peshawar is a city steeped in rich history and vibrant culture. It serves as a crucial travel hub for both domestic and international travelers.
Its well-equipped airport facilitates the movement of business and leisure passengers, making it a significant addition to Etihad’s route map.

Airbus A320 Operations
Etihad Airways will operate this new service utilizing its modern and efficient Airbus A320 family aircraft. These aircraft feature a comfortable two-class configuration, offering eight seats in Business Class and 150 seats in Economy Class.
Passengers can look forward to experiencing Etihad’s renowned, award-winning service throughout their journey. Initially, the route will operate five times a week, providing ample travel options.
Recognizing the anticipated demand, Etihad will increase the frequency to daily flights. The increase will start from November 22, 2025, further enhancing convenience for travelers.

Antonoaldo Neves, the Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, expressed his enthusiasm about this latest expansion. “We are delighted to further strengthen our presence in Pakistan with the launch of our daily service connecting Abu Dhabi and Peshawar.”
“This new route demonstrates our dedication to offering vital connectivity for travelers between Pakistan and the Gulf, Africa, Europe, and North America.”
“Alongside the introduction of flights to Peshawar, we are also increasing our flight frequency to Karachi, boosting it to 17 flights per week starting from October 1.”
Recent Network Additions
This strategic move to connect Abu Dhabi and Peshawar follows Etihad’s recent addition of Addis Ababa to its expanding network.
Notably, Peshawar marks the airline’s sixteenth new destination in the year 2025, highlighting Etihad’s ambitious growth strategy.

In addition to Peshawar, Etihad has announced new routes to several other prominent cities. These include Prague, Warsaw, Algiers, Tunis, and Atlanta. Furthermore, the airline is increasing the frequency of flights to key European cities such as Paris, Milan, Manchester, Frankfurt, Zurich, and Madrid, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing connectivity across continents.
With this continuously growing network, Etihad’s Abu Dhabi Stopover program offers even greater value to travelers.
This attractive program provides passengers with the opportunity to experience the vibrant city of Abu Dhabi with complimentary stays of up to two nights in premium hotels.
The addition of the Peshawar route further solidifies Etihad Airways’ position as a leading global airline, offering enhanced connectivity and exceptional travel experiences.
