Etihad Airways and Royal Air Maroc have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signifying a move to a stronger collaboration.

This strategic agreement positions both airlines to provide passengers with a wider range of travel options.

It extends improved service offerings, and increased value, all while prioritizing sustainable aviation practices.

Broad Spectrum of Initiatives

“This MoU encompasses a broad spectrum of initiatives,” explained Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways.

“We’ll explore expanding our codeshare agreements to encompass additional domestic routes within Morocco and Africa.”

“Additionally, we’ll investigate ways to enhance cooperation within our frequent flyer programs and potentially collaborate on ground handling, maintenance, and engineering services.”

Abdelhamid Addou, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Air Maroc, supported the idea. “We’re delighted to solidify this important partnership with Etihad Airways.”

“This collaboration aligns perfectly with our vision to continuously improve connectivity. We provide our passengers with a seamless and optimized travel experience through our respective hubs.”

The existing codeshare partnership already offers passengers on both airlines convenient access to a wider network of destinations.

This includes seamless connections between Morocco and the UAE, onward travel options from Casablanca to various African cities, and similar connectivity beyond Abu Dhabi.

Passengers benefit from the ability to book their entire journey on a single ticket. This comes with the convenience of a checked baggage service to their final destination.

Royal Air Maroc: Morocco’s National Carrier

Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Morocco’s flag carrier, boasts a rich history dating back to 1957. As the country’s largest airline, RAM plays a pivotal role in connecting Morocco to the world and fostering economic growth.
