Etihad Airways and Air Astana have announced a strategic partnership that will enhance connectivity and elevate the travel experience for passengers of both airlines.
Effective 5 December 2024, the new codeshare agreement will open up broader possibilities and travel options for travelers to a wider range of destinations.
Mutual Airline Network Benefits
Through this collaboration, Etihad Airways customers will gain convenient access to ten new destinations in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
These destinations include the vibrant city of Almaty and the futuristic capital of Astana. They offer a diverse range of cultural, historical, and natural attractions.
Air Astana passengers, on the other hand, will benefit from seamless connections to a broad range of popular destinations. These are located in India, Bahrain, and Oman and are accessible via Etihad Airways’ hub in Abu Dhabi.
This strategic partnership allows travelers to explore the rich cultures, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cities of these countries with ease.
A Streamlined Travel Experience
The codeshare agreement is designed to simplify the travel process for passengers. The arrangement offers single-ticket itineraries and smooth check-in procedures. Etihad Airways and Air Astana thus aim to provide a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.
Passengers can look forward to the convenience of having their baggage checked through to their final destination, eliminating the hassle of baggage claim and re-check-in. This streamlined process ensures a stress-free journey from start to finish.

Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, based in Abu Dhabi. Founded in 2003, it has rapidly grown into a major global carrier.

Air Astana is the flag carrier airline of Kazakhstan, based in Almaty. It was founded in 2001 and commenced operations in 2002.
