Etihad Airways celebrated a significant milestone on Sunday, February 2nd, as its flagship Airbus A380 made its maiden voyage to Singapore Changi Airport.
This marked the first time the airline’s iconic “Big Bird” graced Singaporean skies, elevating the travel experience between the UAE and this dynamic Asian hub.

Passengers can now experience the epitome of opulence with The Residence, the world’s only three-room suite in the sky. For those seeking a premium social space, the upper deck also boasts The Lobby, an exclusive lounge for First and Business class guests.
Arik De, Etihad Airways’ Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, emphasized the importance of Singapore within the airline’s global network. “Singapore, a vibrant and dynamic city, is a key destination for us,” he stated.
“Deploying our beloved A380 significantly enhances our travel offering between Abu Dhabi and Singapore. This underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences across our expanding global network.”
Network Growth in Asia
This A380 deployment, coupled with broader network expansion plans, including increased flight frequencies on crucial routes, demonstrates Etihad’s strong growth trajectory in Asia. The added capacity reflects the rising demand for travel to and from Singapore.
