On May 16, 2024, U.A.E carrier Emirates had announced that they will be resuming their services to Nigeria.
This article will cover the details surrounding Emirates’ resumption of its services between the United Arab Emirates and Nigeria.
Emirates to Resume Nigeria Ops
Restarting from October 1, 2024, Emirates will resume its services between Dubai and Lagos.
The service will be operated on a daily basis using the carrier’s Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range) aircraft. Which currently the carrier has 122 Boeing 777-300ERs in its fleet.
Emirates will operate this service using its Boeing 777-300ERs. These have Eight First Class seats, 42 Business Class seats and 304 Economy Class seats. This totals 354 seats across all three classes.
Firstly, the outbound flight EK783 departs Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 09:45 am. It then arrives into Lagos Murtala Mohammed Airport (LOS) at 15:20 pm. All flight times stated are local.
Secondly, the return flight EK784 departs Lagos Murtala Mohammed Airport (LOS) at 17:30 pm. It then arrives back into Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 05:10 am. the following morning. All flight times stated are local.
With the resumption of Lagos, this now gives passengers the choice of up to 19 gateways across Africa, over 157 flights per week across the continent. Not only this but with Emirates’ partnerships with South African Airways, Airlink, Royal Air Maroc, Tunisair etc, gives passengers a further 130 additional regional airports to reach.
Not only will this service offer passenger capacity, but also enables Emirates SkyCargo to carry over 300 tonnes of bellyhold cargo capacity per week.

Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, has commented on their resumption of their Nigeria services, saying, “We are excited to resume our services to Nigeria.”
“The Lagos-Dubai service has traditionally been popular with customers in Nigeria and we hope to reconnect leisure and business travellers to Dubai and onwards to our network of over 140 destinations.”
“We thank the Nigerian government for their partnership and support in re-establishing this route and we look forward to welcoming passengers back onboard.”
