UAE carrier Emirates has secured the prestigious title of ‘World’s Best Airline’ in Telegraph Travel’s comprehensive 2024 study.

The evaluation analyzed 90 international carriers, highlighting Emirates’ exceptional performance across more than 30 critical service metrics.

The Dubai-based carrier emerged on top following an extensive assessment that incorporated data from over 18 independent international awards, passenger surveys, and expert evaluations.

Key performance indicators included punctuality rates, baggage handling efficiency, route network coverage, fleet modernization, and the overall quality of inflight services.

‘Ticks Nearly Every Box’

“Emirates ticks nearly every box,” declared Telegraph Travel’s report, reinforcing the airline’s commanding position in global aviation.

The carrier’s impressive fleet of Airbus A380s, the largest in operation worldwide, has revolutionized passenger comfort across all cabin classes.

These ‘superjumbo’ aircraft are particularly celebrated for their spacious configurations. They offer superior legroom even in economy class – a crucial factor in today’s competitive travel market.

Premium Economy Service Recognition

Premium travelers have particular cause for celebration. Emirates’ premium economy service, available on 21 key international routes, has been acclaimed as “the best in the sky.”

The offering includes thoughtfully designed leather seats with generous 40-inch pitch, advanced entertainment systems, and exclusive dining options featuring vintage champagne.

Business class continues to distinguish itself with comprehensive door-to-door service, including the increasingly rare benefit of complimentary chauffeur transfers.

‘Finest Wine List’

First class passengers enjoy what Telegraph Travel describes as “the finest wine list of any carrier,” complemented by the unique luxury of onboard showers on A380 aircraft.

This premium service extends beyond the cabin, with access to over 34 dedicated airport lounges worldwide, including seven in Dubai alone.

The airline’s route network demonstrates its global reach, serving 140 cities across 77 countries. This extensive connectivity, combined with consistent service excellence, earned Emirates the top spot in Telegraph Travel’s reader poll. Around 30,000 poll participants voted it the best long-haul carrier globally.
