Ryanair Flight Dublin-Palma De Mallorca Diverts to Bordeaux

Yesterday (May 24), a Ryanair flight from Tenerife made an emergency landing at it's destination of London Stansted Airport.

A Ryanair flight operating between Dublin and Palma de Mallorca has declared an emergency whilst en route and is diverting to Bordeaux.

Ryanair flight FR6187 declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 and is currently on diversion. Updates to follow.

Diversion to Bordeaux (BOD)

Having declared a general emergency whilst in the cruise in French airspace, flight FR6187 has initiated a diversion and descent for nearby Bordeaux (BOD).

The nature of the emergency prompting the unscheduled diversion is not yet known.

Ryanair flight FR6187, originally bound for Palma De Mallorca, is now in the Bordeaux region and on descent below 5,000 feet.

The flight is in the early stages of an approach to diversion airport Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (BOD).

Flight crew are maintaining the priority transponder squawk code 7700.

Ryanair flight FR6187 from Dublin has now landed and is clearing the active runway at the diversion airport in Bordeaux.

The nature of the emergency is not yet known. We will update this as further information comes to hand.

Flight Details

Flight data shows that Ryanair flight FR6187 made a departure from Dublin Airport (DUB) at 07:24 local time this morning.

The flight crew then set course normally, climbing to FL370 (37,000 feet) for the southerly route to Palma De Mallorca (PMI).

The operating crew responded to the situation by immediately declaring an emergency from cruising altitude while in French airspace. They then began a descent and diverted the flight to the nearby Bordeaux airport.

The aircraft operating this morning’s FR6187 rotation from Dublin was a Boeing 737-800, registered EI-EBP. This is a 15.3 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier Ryanair.

It has been in active service with the airline since its initial delivery in March 2009.
