Earlier this week, it has been revealed that EGYPTAIR plans to deploy it’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on select flights between Cairo and Manchester.

Information is limited surrounding this, but below is what we know on this so far, courtesy of AeroRoutes.com.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

At the moment, EGYPTAIR operates the Cairo to Manchester flights on a six times per week basis.

Furthermore, the Airbus A321neo currently services this route on all six weekly occasions.

However, starting from November 4, it is understood that the Boeing 787 will operate on the Friday flight.

Flight times will relatively remain the same, with the scheduling as follows for the Dreamliner:

  • MS781 – Departs Cairo at 0900 and arrives into Manchester at 1230.
  • MS782 – Departs Manchester at 1340 and arrives back into Cairo at 2040.

Higher Demand Being Experienced?

The seating difference between the Airbus A321neo and the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with EGYPTAIR for the Cairo-Manchester flights is as follows, courtesy of Planespotters.net.:

  • Airbus A321neo:
    • 16 seats in Business & 166 in Economy.
  • Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner:
    • 30 seats in Business & 279 in Economy.

Ultimately, this means 14 more seats in Business available to be booked each Friday, as well as 113 in Economy.

It is clear in this regard that EGYPTAIR is needing the Boeing 787 to operate the Cairo-Manchester flights due to extra demand being received.

In conclusion, it will be interesting to see how this particular rotation will perform in term of load factors.

If they are seeing strong success with it, then there could be scope to operate the Dreamliner on more of the weekly flights they serve.

But for now, all we can do is wait and see what happens, as this is always subject to change as well.
