Whilst en route in cruising flight to the north of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the aircraft experienced an engine stall. This resulted in severe vibrations from the failed engine.
According to the online source Aviation Herald, flight crew followed standard procedure and reduced thrust on the engine until the vibrations were brought under control. Following this, the flight crew elected to conduct a turnaround and a precautionary diversion to nearby Jeddah King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED).

The aircraft subsequently landed without further incident on runway 16C King Abdulaziz International Airport. The landing was made approximately 30 minutes after the flight left cruising altitude on diversion.
The Aviation Herald reported that the failed engine was found to have sustained substantial damage and had seized.
