easyJet and easyJet holidays recently announced the inaugural flights and package holidays from London Gatwick Airport to the captivating island of Sal in Cape Verde.
This landmark launch marked easyJet’s first-ever venture into sub-Saharan Africa, opening up new possibilities for British holidaymakers.
Inaugural Service to Sal, Cape Verde
The inaugural flight, which departed 31 March, marked the commencement of a year-round service operating three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
This schedule provides travelers with ample opportunity to explore the stunning landscapes and vibrant culture of Cape Verde.
Complementing the flight schedule, easyJet holidays is offering a diverse selection of package deals, featuring a range of hotels to cater to various preferences and budgets.
To commemorate this special occasion, passengers at the boarding gate were treated to delightful surprises. Both easyJet and easyJet holidays distributed goodie bags filled with essential travel items.
This included a handy travel adaptor and a convenient travel bag, adding a neat touch to the island getaway. Upon arrival in Sal, the welcoming atmosphere continued with a vibrant ceremony featuring local musicians, offering a taste of the Cape Verdean spirit.

Popularity of Cape Verde Flights
Situated off the western coast of Africa, Cape Verde emerges as an exciting new addition to easyJet’s expanding network.
The popularity of both the direct flights and the comprehensive package holidays underscores a growing appetite among British travelers for a tropical escape. The new route delivers exceptional value, presenting an attractive alternative to more established destinations like the Caribbean.
A key advantage of choosing an easyJet holidays package is the all-inclusive nature of the offering. Each package encompasses flights, accommodation, a generous 23kg luggage allowance, and seamless transfers for beach holidays.
