Budget airline easyJet marked a further route opening last week with the successful launch of its inaugural flight from London Luton Airport (LTN) to Tbilisi.
The brand-new route to the Georgian capital city opens a new affordable travel option for UK holidaymakers.
It offers a unique city break and a gateway to explore the captivating landscapes and culture of Georgia.
Inaugural Service from London Luton
The first flight, EZY2485, departed at 12:25pm from London Luton, carrying passengers ready to discover the charm of Tbilisi.
The scheduled arrival time in Georgia was 8:25 PM local time, signifying the start of a twice-weekly service operating throughout the summer season on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
This new connection directly links London with a destination that is rapidly gaining popularity for its rich history, diverse architecture, and thriving cultural scene.
Beyond London, easyJet is further expanding its connectivity to Tbilisi with the introduction of new routes from Geneva and Milan Malpensa earlier this year.
This strategic expansion highlights the airline’s commitment to offering its customers an ever-widening network of exciting and accessible destinations.

Discovering Tbilisi
Tbilisi itself presents an enticing alternative to more conventional city break choices. Its picturesque Old Town, with its winding streets and traditional architecture, invites exploration at every turn.
Visitors can immerse themselves in the city’s history by experiencing the famed historic sulphur baths or delve into its burgeoning arts scene.
Furthermore, Georgia’s renowned culinary traditions and award-winning wines offer a delightful gastronomic journey for adventurous palates.
To accommodate this increased demand and enhance connectivity from its London Luton base, easyJet recently stationed an additional Airbus A320 aircraft at the airport.
This strategic move bolsters easyJet’s Luton fleet to a total of 25 A320 family aircraft. It highlights the airline’s ongoing investment in the region. The new service follows last week’s UK government approval of extensive expansion plans for London Luton Airport.

easyJet Comments
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, expressed his enthusiasm for the new route, stating, “We are really pleased to be celebrating this exciting new route in easyJet’s network.”
“We are providing unique direct connectivity between the UK and Tbilisi in Georgia this summer.” Gayward further emphasized the benefits for passengers flying from London Luton, highlighting the “even more choice” offered by easyJet’s “unrivalled network.”
London Luton Airport remains a crucial hub for easyJet, with over seven million passengers choosing the airline for their travels to 74 diverse destinations each year.
Since its very first flight from Luton to Edinburgh nearly three decades ago, easyJet has served over 124 million passengers from the airport.
It has solidified its position as a key player in connecting the region with both major European cities like Paris and Amsterdam, and popular leisure destinations across Spain, Italy, Tunisia, Turkey, and Egypt.
This new Tbilisi route further enriches this extensive network, offering both leisure and business travelers broader connections with affordable and convenient travel options.
