UPDATE #1 @ 1341 UK time – easyJet flight U22303 London-Tenerife has made a u-turn and a descent following the emergency declaration.
UPDATE #2 @ 1345 UK time – G-UZLK is the aircraft involved in the incident.
As per Planespotters, G-UZLK is a 4.6 year old Airbus A320neo that was delivered to the airline in July 2020.
Furthermore, of the A320neo variant, the UK subsidiary to the airline in Orange has 48 of them in their fleet.
Also, of that 48, all but two are in active service, with an average fleet age of 4.5 years.
EMERGENCY UPDATE #3 @ 1346 UK time – easyJet flight U22303 London-Tenerife is diverting to Brest following the emergency declaration.
UPDATE #4 @ 1349 UK time – The aircraft is making a pass overhead the airport at 3,000 feet.
UPDATE #5 @ 1351 UK time – At this stage, the cause of the emergency is not yet clear.
