easyJet flight U28033 declared the emergency whilst outbound to Tenerife, and is currently diverting.

Return to London
Having declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 approaching Spanish airspace, flight U28033 appears to be on direct return to London.
The nature of the emergency prompting the turnaround is not yet known.

easyJet flight U28033, an Airbus A321-200, was originally bound for Tenerife South Airport (TFS). Flight crew made the emergency declaration in cruising flight at FL330 (33,000 feet) at 07:39 UTC.
The flight is now transiting French airspace at FL330 on a direct return track for London Gatwick (LGW).

Flight U28033 now confirmed as returning to London Gatwick. The nature of the emergency prompting flight crew to make the return is still not known.
Fright crew are maintaining the emergency transponder code 7700 for priority.

easyJet flight U28033 has now left cruising level FL330 and is on descent for its return to London Gatwick.
Weather for the flight’s return this morning is VFR, with visibility 10 kilometres or more. Runway 26 is active for arrivals.
The aircraft conducting this morning’s service to Tenerife (TFS) is an Airbus A321neo, registered G-UZMJ. This is a 4 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier easyJet.
It has been in active service with the airline since its delivery from the factory in July 2020.

Having declared an emergency just over an hour ago, flight U28033 is now below 10,000 feet on the descent and under vectoring for its return to LGW.

Per advice from the online source Flight Emergency, flight crew elected to return to London due to a hydraulic problem.

easyJet flight U28033 is currently holding at 6,000 feet prior to its return to LGW, having experienced a hydraulic problem earlier this morning whilst en route to Tenerife.

easyJet flight U28033 remains in a holding pattern at 6,000 feet, to the southeast of London Gatwick (LGW).
The flight is currently burning off fuel prior to its return to LGW.

easyJet flight U28033 has now landed at London Gatwick Airport, having declared an emergency earlier this morning after experiencing a hydraulic problem. The flight had been en route to Tenerife (TFS).
