U26569 is now on final approach into Belfast following the emergency declaration from the crew on the easyJet Airbus A320.
TOUCHDOWN!
TOUCHDOWN! U26569 from London Gatwick has appeared to have touched down safely into BFS following it’s emergency call.
At this stage, it is unclear what the nature of the emergency is onboard.

Whilst we wait for the cause of the emergency, let’s get to know G-EJCF, the easyJet aircraft involved in the incident.
As per Planespotters, G-EJCF is a 14.9 year old Airbus A320 that started out life with Air Berlin in August 2009.
Furthermore, by May 2012, the aircraft was sent to Vueling on lease from Air Berlin. It went back to Air Berlin in March 2017.
By January 2018, the aircraft was sent to the European subsidiary of easyJet as OE-IZT.
The aircraft was transferred to the UK subsidiary in June 2023 as G-EJCF.
Of the Airbus A320ceo variant, easyJet UK has 79 of them in their flleet.
Furthermore, all of them are in active service and have an average fleet age of 11.5 years.
Update: Medical Emergency
Per advice from the online source Flight Emergency, the cause of yesterday’s emergency for easyJet flight U26569 was a medical issue onboard.
