Budget airline easyJet is set to increase travel options this summer, announcing a significant expansion of its UK operations.
The UK expansion will see six exciting new routes and fleet growth that promises to boost economic opportunities across multiple regions.
Route Network Additions
Manchester and Edinburgh
The airline will introduce direct flights connecting Manchester and Edinburgh to Milan Linate, creating fresh travel possibilities for UK travelers seeking to explore Italy’s vibrant second-largest city.
These new routes represent a strategic move following easyJet’s recent approval by the European Commission to acquire slots at Milan Linate and Rome Fiumicino airports.
Birmingham
Travelers from Birmingham will enjoy two compelling new destinations this summer. The airline will launch routes to Gibraltar and Bordeaux, offering convenient twice-weekly connections that open up exciting travel opportunities.
These routes will provide travelers with more flexibility and affordable options for exploring European destinations.
Bristol
Bristol-based travelers will benefit from two additional routes. A new service to Almeria in Spain will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the year, while a summer route to Palermo, Sicily’s captivating capital, will launch with twice-weekly Thursday and Sunday departures.

Bristol Base Expansion
The expansion goes beyond simply adding routes. easyJet is investing in its UK infrastructure by introducing a 19th Airbus A320 family aircraft at its Bristol base.
This strategic investment will support approximately 400 direct and indirect jobs, contributing an estimated £27 million to the gross value added (GVA) to the local economy.
Ali Gayward, easyJet UK Country Manager, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s growth, highlighting the commitment to providing more travel choices for customers across the United Kingdom.
The investment in new bases in Italy will enhance connectivity and offer great value for both leisure and business travelers.

easyJet Holidays
Complementing these new routes, easyJet Holidays has simultaneously launched thousands of package deals across the new destinations. These comprehensive packages include flights, accommodations, and 23kg luggage. It offers the added benefit of ultimate flexibility, a refund guarantee, and price matching.
The airline’s commitment to accessibility is further demonstrated through its Low Fare Finder tool. This allows travelers to easily search for the most affordable fares across its entire network. This user-friendly feature empowers holidaymakers to plan their trips efficiently and economically.
Summary
With this expansion, easyJet now serves 21 UK airports. It supports an impressive network of 585 routes to 136 destinations across Europe and beyond. The strategic additions not only provide more travel options but also stimulate economic growth and connectivity.
Travelers can now book these exciting new routes through easyJet’s website and mobile app, with prices starting from an attractive £23.99. Whether you’re planning a city break, a beach holiday, or a business trip, easyJet’s latest expansion offers something for every traveler.
This significant investment underscores easyJet’s continued growth and commitment to providing affordable, convenient travel options for UK customers.
By expanding its route network and fleet, the airline is not just connecting destinations but also creating opportunities for exploration, business, and personal growth.
