Discover Airlines is expanding its European network from Frankfurt and Munich for the upcoming summer season. The airline is introducing new routes and boosting popular destinations, including Greece and Bulgaria.

Notably, Ålesund and Bodø in Norway are fresh additions to both Discover Airlines and the entire Lufthansa Group. Discover Airlines will exclusively serve these Norwegian cities from Germany.

Nordic Destinations: Broadest Selection Yet

Summer 2024 marks Discover Airlines’ most extensive Nordic offering, with five destinations in Northern Europe.

From early May to late October, the airline will operate twice-weekly flights (Wednesdays and Saturdays) between Frankfurt and Ålesund. This 2.5-hour journey takes travelers to Norway’s picturesque coastal city, gateway to the renowned Geirangerfjord.

Munich will see twice-weekly flights (Mondays and Thursdays) to Bodø from early June to late October. The 3-hour flight connects travelers to this Norwegian city, an ideal base for exploring the Lofoten archipelago, much like Evenes.

Plans for a Frankfurt-Evenes route are set for summer 2025, with up to three weekly flights (Mondays, Thursdays, Sundays).

Kittilä, Finland, will become a year-round destination from Frankfurt. Up to two weekly flights (Mondays and Fridays) will serve this remote Finnish Lapland location in just under 3.5 hours. Discover Airlines stands out as the first international carrier offering summer flights to Kittilä.

Iceland joins the network with flights to Keflavik, near Reykjavík. Discover Airlines will replace Lufthansa on the Munich route, offering up to three weekly flights between April and late October.

Sun Destinations from Frankfurt and Munich

Greece remains the most featured country in Discover Airlines’ schedule. The airline is adding Kefalonia and Kalamata to its Frankfurt roster, bringing the total Greek destinations to eleven.

Both will have weekly flights (Kefalonia on Mondays, Kalamata on Sundays) and are already served from Munich. Discover Airlines offers the sole direct connection between Frankfurt and Kefalonia. Heraklion, Crete, leads the Greek destinations with an increase to 21 weekly flights.

Burgas, Bulgaria, joins the Munich network for summer 2024. From July to early October, flights will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays to this Black Sea port city. Varna, already served from Munich, will see an increase to three weekly flights.

For summer 2024, Discover Airlines will serve 36 short and medium-haul destinations from Frankfurt and 29 from Munich.
