Deutsche Aircraft, a German Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), has marked a further waypoint in its innovative D328eco™ programme.
The company has officially begun construction of the first test aircraft. Known as TAC 1, it extends the D328® fuselage to accommodate 40 passengers comfortably.
This achievement furthers the substantial progress of the D328eco programme to date. The engineering team at Deutsche Aircraft employed a specially designed precision tool to cut TAC 1’s fuselage.
Deutsche Aircraft unveiled the test aircraft at this week’s 2024 Farnborough International Airshow, one of the world’s largest and most influential aerospace events.
Business partners, industry experts, and media representatives gathered this week, which helped to put Deutsche Aircraft and the D328eco programme in the global spotlight.
Tapping the Regional Aviation Sector
Despite the excitement surrounding this achievement, the team remains focused on the challenging development and testing phases that lie ahead.
With support from a robust and carefully cultivated supply chain network, Deutsche Aircraft continues to make significant strides in the competitive regional aviation sector.
The D328eco programme has made remarkable progress in establishing this network, with contracts secured for over 95% of its suppliers.
The manufacturer’s comprehensive preparation ensures the programme is well-positioned for success and timely delivery.
This latest accomplishment marks a major leap forward for Deutsche Aircraft. It demonstrates their determination to push boundaries and set new industry standards in regional aircraft design and manufacturing.
Nico Neumann, COO at Deutsche Aircraft, expressed his enthusiasm. “We’re thrilled to announce the fuselage cut for the D328eco programme.”
“This milestone is a testament to our team’s hard work, ingenuity, and dedication in initiating the TAC 1 development process. It clearly demonstrates our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions and enabling early flight testing for the D328eco.”
Anastasija Visnakova, VP Sales and Marketing at Deutsche Aircraft, added further perspective. “The commencement of construction for the test D328eco is excellent news for our company and the broader market.”
“We’ve invested considerable effort in designing the D328eco to meet current and future market needs. This carefully crafted design will be fully incorporated into the test aircraft. It ultimately delivers a best-in-class turboprop for regional and special mission operators worldwide.”
