A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757-200 operating the service from Philadelphia, PA to Atlanta, GA diverted to Greenville Spartanburg, SC due to an odour in the cabin on 13 October 2024.
Delta Air Lines DL2305, a Boeing 757-200 from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) was en route to Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

According to the online source Aviation Herald, passengers who had been on board the flight reported the presence of an odor in the cabin. According to passenger reports, the odor was present from the beginning of the flight. It reportedly became worse as the flight progressed.
As a result, flight crew elected to divert to Greenville Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) as the aircraft transited North Carolina airspace.
The flight subsequently landed without further incident at Greenville Spartanburg approximately twenty minutes after flight crew initiated the diversion.

Flight data shows that flight DL2305 had made a slightly delayed departure out of Philadelphia International Airport on 13 October. Actual time of departure for the flight was recorded as 1720 local time. Scheduled departure time for the service was listed as 1646 local time.
After departure, the flight had proceeded normally, climbing to flight level FL340 (34,000 feet) for the south-westerly routes to Atlanta.
The diversion was then made approximately fifty nautical miles to the north east of Greenville en route.
The aircraft conducting the DL2305 service from Philadelphia was a Boeing 757-200, registered N543US. This is a 28.5 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier Delta Air Lines. It has been an operational service with the airline since October 2008.
The aircraft was previously involved in an incident at Ponta Delgada–João Paulo II Airport (PDL) on 16 September 2019. In that incident, the aircraft suffered fuselage damage following a hard landing.
It was ferried to Atlanta and returned to service on 1 December 2019.
