Delta Air Lines is set to reconnect Rio de Janeiro and New York City with a seasonal route running from December 2024 to March 2025, offering travelers an exciting opportunity to explore two of the world’s most captivating destinations.

This strategic flight path bridges two iconic cities, each with its own unique charm and global significance.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s vibrant coastal metropolis, is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes where urban sophistication meets natural splendor. The seasonal route, operating from December 20, 2024, to March 27, 2025, will connect cultures, facilitating business opportunities, and enabling personal connections. The Boeing 767-300ER will accommodate 215 passengers across four meticulously designed travel classes, ensuring comfort for every type of traveler.

Delta One represents the pinnacle of luxury travel, featuring 25 spacious seats configured in a 1-2-1 layout that guarantees direct aisle access.

These seats transform into fully flat beds, providing passengers with a premium sleep experience. The attention to detail extends to amenities, with luxurious kits from Italian brand Missoni and Grown Alchemist skincare products.

Culinary enthusiasts will appreciate the chef-curated, seasonally inspired menu, with meal selections available through the innovative Fly Delta app.

Delta Premium Select

For travelers seeking a balance between comfort and affordability, Delta Premium Select offers 18 enhanced seats. These feature additional width, adjustable headrests, and footrests.

Locally inspired dining and artisan-made amenity kits from Mexican brand Someone Somewhere elevate the experience. Delta Comfort+ provides 21 seats with dedicated overhead bin space. Meanwhile, the Main Cabin ensures comfort with 151 ergonomic seats featuring individual entertainment screens.

Returning Delta One customers will experience the newly opened 39,000-square-foot Delta One Lounge at JFK. This sophisticated space offers a sanctuary of relaxation, featuring gourmet dining options, wellness treatments, and impeccable valet service.

Ricardo de Oliveira, Delta’s Regional Sales Manager in Brazil, emphasized the route’s strategic importance. “We’ve carefully timed this flight to align with travel patterns. It supports Brazilian vacationers heading to the U.S. and Americans seeking Rio’s warmth during their winter months.”

Summary


The route is part of the robust Delta and LATAM Joint Venture. The partnership that has already operated over 11,000 flights and transported more than 2 million passengers in just two years.

This collaboration extends beyond this route, offering direct flights from Brazil to multiple U.S. destinations. These include Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Orlando.

As a bonus for Rio de Janeiro travelers, Delta will be upgrading its Rio de Janeiro-Atlanta route. This will become a daily service from December 19, 2024, to March 31, 2025. This will be operated by the larger A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 282 passengers.
