Qantas is set to elevate the holiday travel experience for millions of customers during what promises to be one of its busiest festive seasons yet.

The airline is spreading Christmas cheer through a range of exciting initiatives, starting with its festive-themed fleet.

Dasher-8 and Roo-Dolph

QantasLink Q400 ‘Dasher-8’ and Boeing 737 ‘Roo-dolph’ will sport special Christmas livery, with passengers earning double points throughout December.

Meanwhile, a dedicated Qantas Freight A321 aircraft, decorated as ‘Santa’s Freight’, will transport thousands of presents across the country.

Qantas Group Chief Customer and Digital Officer Catriona Larritt highlighted the airline’s commitment to creating memorable experiences. “We know our customers, especially children, love our special festive aircraft,” she said. “Our teams have worked tirelessly to prepare operations and help millions of customers reunite with family and friends during the holidays.”

Passengers can also look forward to numerous onboard enhancements this holiday season. These include new seasonal international first and business class inflight menus, a refreshed First lounge menu, and an expanded beer selection across the network.

Culinary highlights come courtesy of Qantas’ Creative Director of Food, Beverage and Service Neil Perry. The seasonal menus showcase premium Australian producers, featuring delicacies like Margra Lamb, Glacier 51 Toothfish, and Skull Island King Prawns.

Beer enthusiasts will appreciate the major overhaul of Qantas’ beverage offerings. Lounges across major cities now feature local independent brews, including:

  • Sydney: Hawke’s lager
  • Brisbane: Straddie Amity Pale Ale
  • Canberra: Bentspoke Crankshaft IPA
  • Perth: Gage Roads Single Fin Summer Ale
  • Melbourne: Stomping Ground Big Sky Hazy

The airline is also elevating its cocktail game with two new offerings. An exclusive onboard Bloody Mary mixture and the Qantas Aviation Spritz – created with Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin and Regal Rogue Daring Dry – will be served across international economy and premium economy cabins.

In the lead-up to Christmas, selected domestic and international lounges will serve traditional festive fare, complete with a signature Christmas cocktail. The airline promises additional surprises and customer delights in the coming weeks.
