The decision was made to make a precautionary return to Paris Orly rather than continue with the overwater crossing to Guadeloupe. The aircraft is equipped with duplicated hydraulic systems, but a return to ORY was deemed prudent in the circumstances.

The flight data shows that flight SS926 made a delayed departure out of Paris ORY. Actual time of departure was listed as 1247 local time, against the scheduled departure time of 1215 local.

The aircraft then climbed the outbound track to flight level FL150 (15,000 feet), before flight crew terminated the climb.

A return to the departure airport was then initiated, and the aircraft landed without incident approximately one hour after initial departure.
