China Eastern Airlines Rolls Out Measures to Improve ‘China Travel’ Experience

China Eastern Airlines has rolled out a suite of E-Services at Shanghai Pudong Airport to eliminate paperwork and streamline passenger services.

China Eastern Airlines, a major carrier in China, has been at the forefront of technological advancements in the aviation industry.

Their recent launch of Eastern E-Services at Shanghai Pudong International Airport is a testament to their commitment to enhancing passenger experience and streamlining operations.  

The Digital Transformation of Travel


The Eastern E-Services suite, comprising E-boarding pass, E-transfer, Eastern 24H-transfer service, E-heart service, Efficient declaration, Easy pass, and E-arrival card. The E-Services suite offers a comprehensive solution for travelers, by eliminating paperwork and providing digital alternatives. These new digital services aim to reduce waiting times, improve efficiency, and offer a more seamless journey.  

The introduction of online customs declaration and in-flight entry card submission for passengers arriving in China is a significant step towards a paperless travel experience. This not only saves time for travelers but also aligns with the global trend towards digitalization in the aviation sector.  

The carrier now offers an online transit information submission service for foreign visitors. This is applicable to those eligible for the 24-hour or 144-hour visa-free transit.

Considering baggage services, China Eastern Airlines has introduced a Special Baggage Drop-off service on its app. It has also set up dedicated Special Baggage Drop-off counters at 15 major airports across China.
