Taiwanese carrier China Airlines has confirmed the placement a firm order for ten widebody Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.
This significant investment, finalizing a pledge made in December 2024, marks a key step in the airline’s strategic expansion.
This fleet is important, particularly for its crucial long-haul routes to North America and Europe.
China Airlines Fleet Integration
The acquisition of these advanced aircraft furthers China Airlines’ confidence in the state-of-the-art widebody.
Importantly, the A350-1000s will smoothly integrate with the airline’s existing fleet of A350-900s. This ensures a streamlined transition and maximizing commonality in operations.
Kao Shing-Hwang, Chairman of China Airlines, explained the strategic importance of this order. “Our investment in the A350-1000 supports our international growth strategy. It reflects our commitment to improving the travel experience for our passengers.”

The Airbus A350 Series
The A350 series stands as a testament to modern aviation engineering, setting new benchmarks for intercontinental travel. Renowned for its exceptional range, the A350-1000 boasts the longest flight capability of any commercial airliner currently in production.
Powered by the latest generation Rolls-Royce engines, this aircraft can cover distances of up to 9,700 nautical miles, equivalent to 18,000 kilometers, without stopping. This remarkable range is coupled with a significant reduction in fuel consumption and carbon emissions, achieving a 25% improvement compared to previous generation aircraft.
Furthermore, the A350 is designed to operate with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), currently capable of utilizing up to 50% SAF. Airbus is actively pursuing the goal of enabling its aircraft to operate on 100% SAF by 2030, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability.
The A350 Family has garnered widespread acclaim within the aviation industry, securing over 1,360 orders from 60 customers worldwide. Currently, more than 640 A350 aircraft are actively serving in the fleets of 38 operators, predominantly facilitating long-haul journeys.
