Cathay Pacific Expands U.S. Presence with Dallas-Hong Kong Route

Dallas Fort-Worth will become Cathay Pacific's first southern US hub with the planned commencement of flight services in April 2025.

In a move to strengthen its North American network, Cathay Pacific has announced the launch of a new nonstop service between Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Hong Kong. The service is set to commence on April 24, 2025 and will run four times weekly.

This strategic route will establish a crucial link between the southern United States and Cathay’s home base, marking DFW as the airline’s first major southern hub for passenger flights.

CX897: Hong Kong-Dallas


The new service, operating as flight CX897, will utilize Cathay Pacific’s state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. Flights are scheduled to depart DFW at 11:55 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The flight will touch down in Hong Kong at 5:05 AM local time two days later.

This schedule is designed to provide seamless connections to Cathay’s extensive network spanning Asia and mainland China.

The return flight, CX898, will leave Hong Kong at 4:05 PM local time on the same days. It arrives in DFW at 5:55 PM that day, offering convenient timing for both business and leisure travelers.

Airbus A350-1000


Passengers on the Dallas-Hong Kong route can look forward to experiencing Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A350-1000 long-haul service.

Cathay Pacific configures the aircraft with Business, Premium Economy, and Economy class seating. The airline complements this setup with its award-winning inflight entertainment system and offers full Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the plane.

In addition to the comfort of the journey, Cathay Pacific is elevating the inflight experience. It offers a range of wellness amenities and an innovative dining program. The airline has partnered with several iconic Hong Kong dining establishments. This includes Louise, Pirata, and Duddell’s, who will offer a taste of the city’s renowned culinary scene.

North American Network


The Dallas route is part of a broader expansion of Cathay Pacific’s North American operations. Currently, the airline operates 88 weekly return flights to Hong Kong from seven North American gateways. This spans Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver. By May 2025, this frequency will increase to an impressive 108 weekly flights, significantly enhancing connectivity and travel options for passengers.

The expanded schedule will feature:

  • Triple daily returns to major hubs New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles
  • Daily return flights to both Boston and Chicago
  • Double daily services to Vancouver
  • 13 weekly return flights to Toronto
