Cathay Pacific flight CX811, an Airbus A350-1000 bound for Hong Kong International Airport, is now holding off the coast of Boston after declaring a general emergency.

Flight CX811 declared the emergency while passing through 5,000 feet just after takeoff. Flight crew then terminated the climb and entered holding procedures offshore at that altitude.
The nature of the emergency is not yet known.

Cathay Pacific flight CX811 had made a delayed departure out of Boston Logan International Airport earlier today. Flight data shows the aircraft logged an actual time of departure of 0204 local time. Scheduled departure time for the service was listed as 0030 local time.
