Cambodia Angkor Air Expands Fleet with Three New ATR 72-600 Aircraft

Cambodian national carrier Cambodia Angkor Air has expanded its fleet with the acquisition of three new ATR 72-600 regional aircraft.

ATR, a global leader in regional aircraft manufacturing, has announced the acquisition of three ATR 72-600 aircraft for Cambodia Angkor Air, the country’s national carrier.

Effective January 1, 2025, the airline will rebrand as Air Cambodia. The aircraft have been purchased by HNCA Aviation Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (HNCAL). This is a leading Chinese lessor and subsidiary of Henan Civil Aviation Development & Investment Group.

The airline will lease the twin turboprop aircraft to support its strategic expansion of domestic and regional routes throughout Cambodia. The deliveries are set to take place in 2025.

This agreement not only bolsters Sino-Cambodian aviation collaboration but also demonstrates the national carrier’s dedication to fleet modernization.

The ATR 72-600 aircraft will play a crucial role in connecting key tourism destinations and enhancing transportation infrastructure within Cambodia.

The fleet expansion aligns perfectly with the Cambodian government’s objectives to develop additional airports. It seeks to improve regional air connectivity through efficient and reliable travel routes.

Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, Chief Executive Officer at ATR, emphasized the significance of the partnership. “Our collaboration with Cambodia Angkor Air and HNCA underscores ATR’s commitment to delivering advanced, efficient, and environmentally friendly aircraft tailored to regional market requirements.”

“The ATR 72-600 will enable Cambodia Angkor Air to improve domestic services. It will strengthen connectivity across South-East Asia, benefiting both people and businesses.”
