Over the weekend, a TAP Air Portugal flight bound for Oslo from Lisbon had to divert to Porto.
Information has been released pertinent to this incident, which we will get into in this article.

TAP Air Portugal Flight: TP764 – Lisbon to Oslo – Diverts to Porto…
TAP Air Portugal flight TP764, which diverted to Porto, is a routine scheduled flight between Lisbon and Oslo.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in this incident was CS-TVB.
As per data from Planespotters.net, CS-TVB is a 5.4 year old Airbus A320neo that was delivered to the airline in February 2019.
Moreover, of the A320neo variant, TAP Air Portugal has 13 of them in their fleet.
Within that 13, one is parked and 12 are in active service, with an average fleet age of 4.0 years.
Also, as well as the A320neo, the airline also has the following aircraft in their mainline fleet:
- 5 Airbus A319s.
- 15 Airbus A320ceos.
- 26 A321 Family aircraft.
- 22 A330 Family aircraft.
- 19 Embraer E190 aircraft.
TAP Air Portugal flight TP764 departed Lisbon at 1309 local time on June 30 and initially climbed out towards Oslo.
Over the A Coruna area, the aircraft proceeded to make a u-turn and heavy descent into Porto.
From there, the aircraft landed safely into the Portuguese airport at 1427 local time, nearly an hour and a half after departure.
Furthermore, as per The Aviation Herald, it is understood that the cause of this diversion was due to a loss of cabin pressure.
Grounded for Two Days…
Because of this incident involving TAP Air Portugal TP764 Lisbon (LIS)-Oslo and it’s diversion into Porto, the aircraft was grounded for two days.
Before it could be formally grounded, the aircraft made an emergency re-positioning back to LIS.
Furthermore, data from RadarBox highlights that the aircraft re-entered commercial service on July 2.
Since it’s re-entry into service, it has operated the following flights:
- TP1685 – LIS to Madeira.
- TP1686 – Funchal to LIS.
- TP824 – LIS to Milan.
- TP825 – Milan to LIS.
- TP1543 – LIS to Praia.
- TP1544 – Praia to LIS.
- TP882 – LIS to Napoli.
Overall, the aircraft appears to now be back in working order following the loss of cabin pressure on June 30.
No other issues have been reported regarding the aircraft since.
