Yesterday (May 25), a British Airways flight between London and Athens declared an emergency and diverted to Paris CDG.
Information is limited regarding this incident, but below is what we know so far on this.

British Airways Flight BA638 – London to Athens…
British Airways flight BA638, which declared an emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between London Heathrow & Athens.
G-MIDT was the aircraft involved in the incident in Paris.
As per data from Planespotters.net, G-MIDT is a 23.3 year old Airbus A320 that started out life with bmi British Midland in April 2001.
By August 2012, the aircraft was handed over to British Airways.
Of the A320ceo variant, the airline has 65 in the fleet.
Furthermore, all 65 are in active service, hosting an average fleet age of 17.7 years.
British Airways flight BA638 departed London Heathrow at 0633 local time on May 25 and tracked south-easterly initially towards Athens.
Upon reaching Hauts-de-France, the aircraft made an impromptu descent followed by an emergency declaration.
Furthermore, not long after that descent, the aircraft was on the ground safely.
Still On The Ground in CDG…
At the time of writing (25/5/24 @ 1820 UK time), the British Airways Airbus A320 from London to Athens is still sat on the ground in Paris.
Furthermore, it is still unclear what the reason for the emergency was onboard the aircraft.
Being sat on the ground for more than a few hours indicates it is something wrong with the airplane.
