A British Airways flight enroute to London City Airport from Belfast has declared an emergency, squawking transponder code 7700.
BA Cityflyer flight BA8751, an Embraer E190-100 bound for London City Airport, declared the emergency whilst transiting the British midlands. The flight now appears to be diverting to Birmingham.

The regional flight declared a general emergency while in cruising flight at FL340. Flight crew squawked the emergency transponder code at 06:32 UTC.
The nature of the emergency prompting the diversion to Birmingham is not yet known.

Having declared an emergency earlier this morning, flight BA8751 is currently on descent and appears to be making good a diversion to Birmingham International Airport (BHX).

Having expedited a descent and approach, British Airways flight BA8751 has now landed runway 15 Birmingham International Airport.
Firefighting assets reportedly met the flight on its arrival at the diversion airport. The exact nature of the problem is not yet known.

BA Cityflyer flight BA9851 had made an on-time departure from Belfast City Airport (BHD) at 06:56 local time this morning.
The flight had then proceeded normally, climbing to flight level FL370 for the southwesterly service to London. The flight was transiting the British midlands when the descent was expedited for nearby Birmingham.
the aircraft conducting this morning’s BA9851 rotation from Belfast City Airport was an Embraer ERJ190-100, registered G-LCAH. This is a 12.8 year old regional jet belonging to the national carrier British Airways. Regional subsidiary BA Cityflyer operate the aircraft. The aircraft has been in operational service with the airline since September 2021.
Prior to its current service, the aircraft was operated by China Southern Airlines since its initial delivery from the factory in August 2012.
