In the last few moments, British Airways flight BA369 from Marseille to London has declared an emergency over French airspace.

The flight is currently descending following the emergency call, with RadarBox reporting that the flight will be diverting to Lyon.

About G-EUUF: The Aircraft Involved in the Emergency on British Airways BA369 Marseille-London…

It is understood that G-EUUF is the aircraft involved in this emergency.

As per Planespotters, G-EUUF is a 22.1 year old Airbus A320 that was delivered to the airline in July 2002.

Of the A320ceo variant, BA has 65 of them in their fleet.

Furthermore, of that 65, all of them are in active service, with an average fleet age of 17.9 years.

U-Turn Made…

In the last few moments, British Airways flight BA369 from Marseille to London has declared an emergency over French airspace.

British Airways flight BA369, originally bound for London from Marseille, has completed it’s u-turn towards Lyon.

The aircraft is passing through FL220-230 at this present moment.

Reason Unclear…

At this stage, the reason for the 7700 declaration is still unclear. The aircraft is still continuing on to Lyon at this present moment.

Current weather conditions are favouring either Runway 35L or 35R for the approach into Lyon. Of course, any runway is available in an emergency.

The BA flight status page doesn’t give any insights as of yet into the reason for the divert.

In the last few moments, British Airways flight BA369 from Marseille to London has declared an emergency over French airspace.

BA369 is now tracking east, towards the approach plates for what is the 17s at Lyon.

Wind is variable at only a few knots, so either direction is suitable for the emergency aircraft.

The aircraft is now entering the base leg portion of the approach into Lyon.

BA369 is now on final approach for the 17s at Lyon.

TOUCHDOWN!

TOUCHDOWN! British Airways flight BA369 from Marseille and originally bound for London, has appeared to have touched down safely into Lyon following it’s emergency broadcast and subsequent choice to divert.

The cause of the emergency is not yet known.

@FlightEmergency on X reports that the diversion has occurred due to a possible fuel leak on the aircraft.

Still on the Runway…

BA369 still remains parked on the runway whilst emergency crews check the aircraft.

No Leaks Found…

It is understood engine number 1 was the issue at hand with the fuel leak.

Emergency teams have checked the engine and no leaks are present, so the aircraft will now taxi to stand as per @FlightEmergency on X!

End of Coverage…

With there being no leak, it is unclear whether the aircraft will continue to Heathrow, or whether the flight will be cancelled tonight.
