LONDON – A Lufthansa A330, D-AIKP, operating LH468 has turned back over the Atlantic. It is currently unclear why the aircraft has turned, however, there is speculation the aircraft is diverting to Manchester.

RadarBox.com data shows the aircraft turning back to the UK shortly after entering the Atlantic airspace. This is a developing story.

UPDATE #2 @ 1236 UK time – Lufthansa flight LH468 is nearing the base leg portion of the diversion, with no emergency squawk code transmitted at this time.

UPDATE #3 @ 1238 UK time – As per @RadarBoxCom, LH468 was a scheduled flight between Frankfurt and Austin.

UPDATE #5 @ 1243 UK time – Lufthansa flight LH468 has landed at Manchester Airport safely following its diversion which began over the Atlantic Ocean.

UPDATE #6 @ 1245 UK time – It is unclear currently what the cause of the diversion is, but the short approach in could indicate something of seriousness. We will await further updates.
