A Bombardier Challenger 300 light jet has crashed on landing in San Fernando, Buenos Aires, resulting in the deaths of both pilots.
The accident occurred after the aircraft suffered a runway excursion after landing at San Fernando Airport (FDO) on 18 December 2024.

The Challenger 300, registered LV-GOK was conducting a repositioning flight from Punta Del Este Airport (PDP). The aircraft was being operated by flight crew of two, and there were no other passengers aboard the aircraft.
After an approach and landing on runway 05 San Fernando Airport, the aircraft overran the overshoot end of the runway. As it did so, flight crew via the aircraft to the right to avoid the ILS localiser antenna array located in the runway overshoot.

As a result, the aircraft continued through an airport perimeter fence and into an adjoining street area. The left-hand wing separated from the fuselage after impacting a tree.
The fire subsequently broke out, completely destroying the aircraft and killing both operating crew members. Emergency services subsequently attended the scene of the accident. Neighbouring houses were evacuated and there were no other reports of casualties.
Airport Security Police (PSA) issued a statement following the accident. “At 13.23 a communication was received from the Headquarters of the Regional Airport Security Unit I of the East of the Airport Security Police (PSA). It was reported that an aircraft with registration LV-GOK continued on its way during landing. It went over the perimeter fence of the San Fernando International Airport and crashed into neighboring homes.”
According to local news sources, the aircraft may have experienced a problem with its braking system, resulting in the runway excursion.
It is understood that the privately owned light jet had conducted two flights that day. The first was reported as being made to Punta del Estein Uruguay, carrying passengers. The second flight was a repositioning flight returning the aircraft to San Fernando Airport, Buenos Aires.
