A Binter Canarias ATR 72 operating from Las Palmas in the Canary Islands diverted to Tenerife South on 25 May 2024.
Binter Canarias flight RSC9AU, an ATR 72-600 operating from Las Palmas Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) experienced a suspected fuel leak in flight.

The flight was originally bound for Valverde, Spain and was en route at flight level FL120 (12,000 feet) when the possible problem was detected.
Flight crew made the decision to conduct a precautionary diversion to nearby Tenerife South Airport (TFS). An emergency was declared with transponder code 7700.
The aircraft then conducted a descent and made good a direct track to Tenerife TFS. Flight RSC9AU landed without incident approximately 15 minutes after initiating the diversion.
After a short period on the ground, the aircraft subsequently resumed the service without further incident.
Flight data shows that flight RSC9AU departed Las Palmas Gran Canaria (LPA) at 1614 local time on 25 May.
The flight then set because normally and climbed to FL120 for the regional service to Valverde. Transponder code 7700 was subsequently squawked at 1542 UTC, whereupon the aircraft initiated a diversion to Tenerife South (TFS).
The extent of the suspected problem is not known, however the aircraft completed the scheduled service after a layover of just over two hours.
ATR72-600 EC-MOL
The aircraft conducting the regional service was an ATR 72-600, registered EC-MOL. This is a 7.6-year-old regional commuter turboprop aircraft belonging to the carrier Binter Canaria.
It has been in active service with the airline since January 2017. Prior to its service with the carrier it operated with Flybe since its original delivery from the factory.
