An Azul Linhas Aereas Embraer E195-E2 operating regional service from Recife to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil diverted to Salvador with a technical problem on 30 September 2024.
Azul flight AD4043, an Embraer E195-E2, was en route to Rio de Janeiro in cruising flight when the aircraft experienced electrical problems.

The aircraft was on flight plan track to the south of Salvador. The flight crew then elected to backtrack and divert to Salvador International Airport
During the approach to the diversion airport, the flight entered a series of holding procedures. It subsequently landed on runway 10, just over an hour after the diversion was made.
The aircraft was brought to a stop on the runway. It was then assisted by a ground support vehicle to exit the active runway.
According to the online source Aviation Herald, passengers on board the flight reported a series of electrical anomalies. This ranged from unusual noises emanating from the air conditioning system to lights flashing in an uncoordinated manner in the cabin.
Passengers were instructed by the flight deck to remove sharp objects and assume the emergency brace position for the landing.

Flight data shows that the flight AD4043 made a departure from Recife International Airport (REC) at 0253 local time on 30 September.
The flight had proceeded normally, climbing to the flight level FL380 (38,000 feet). It then conducted the southerly service to Rio de Janeiro. The aircraft was approximately 150 nautical miles to the south of Salvador on flight plan track when the diversion was made.
The aircraft conducting the AD4043 regional service to Rio de Janeiro was an Embraer E195-E2, registered PS-AEU. This is a 6 month old aircraft belonging to the carrier Azul Linhas Aereas. It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in June 2024.
