Austrian Airlines has this week announced an expansion of flights for the Winter 2024/25 season.
The carrier has laid out it’s plans for new flights as well as plans for it’s newly delivered Boeing 787 aircraft.

The Expansion of Flights from Austrian Airlines…
Austrian Airlines have made the following announcements regarding their Winter 2024/25 season:
- New flights to Ivalo, Finland – Joins Kittilä and Rovaniemi.
- New flights to Bremen, Boston & Tbilisi.
- Increase in flights to Bangkok from seven to 13 per week thanks to the delivery of Boeing 787 aircraft.
- New York, Montreal & The Maldives increase to five weekly.
It has been significant the opportunities Austrian Airlines have been awarded thanks to the delivery of the two Dreamliners.
Trestl: Aiming to Return to Pre-Crisis Levels…
Commenting on the planned new flights for Winter 2024/25 was Michael Trestl, CCO of Austrian Airlines:
“Our aim is to continuously expand our route network to be able to offer our guests a broad portfolio of destinations.”
“We have achieved this successfully in the winter flight schedule with the addition of Ivalo and the continuation of the new summer destinations in winter.”
“On long-haul routes, it was important for us to initially serve Boston in the winter and to offer more flights to destinations popular among our guests.”
“This approach aims to return to pre-crisis levels in intercontinental services and provide attractive connections worldwide”.

In conclusion, Austrian Airlines is planning to go big for the Winter 2024/25 season.
As the weather gets colder in Austria, travel demand for warmer climates has increased slightly.
Furthermore, demand for services into the U.S has also increased for winter shopping and travel.
For now, all eyes will be on how the new flights perform, as well as how operations go with their new Boeing 787s.
