ATR Secures Firm Order for 10 ATR 72-600s from Avation

ATR has secured a firm order for 10 ATR 72-600 regional aircraft with options for 24 more from Singapore-based lessor Avation PLC.

ATR, the world’s leading manufacturer of regional aircraft, announced a firm order for 10 ATR 72-600s from Avation PLC, a Singapore-based aircraft lessor.

This agreement further demonstrates the continued regional market demand for ATR turboprop aircraft.

Deliveries for the 10 aircraft are scheduled between 2025 and 2028. The contract includes the option for Avation to purchase an additional 24 ATR 72-600s by 2034.

This order marks a significant point in what has been an enduring partnership between ATR and Avation, which began in 2011.

Since then, Avation has taken delivery of 36 new ATR 72s, with two more on the way. Avation currently boasts a fleet of 20 ATR aircraft.

ATR72-600 and Regional Operations

ATR 72-600s stand out for their environmental performance, emitting 45% less CO2 per trip compared to similar-sized regional jets.

They are also 50% compatible with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and on track to achieve 100% SAF readiness by 2025, aligning with ATR’s commitment to sustainable aviation.

These new aircraft will play a crucial role in enhancing regional connectivity, fostering economic growth in remote and underserved areas.

Improved connections will attract businesses, tourism, and investment, ultimately benefiting local communities.

Continued Vote of Support From Avation

Jeff Chatfield, Executive Chairman of Avation PLC, expressed his satisfaction with the performance of ATR aircraft. He highlighted the strong demand from airlines and the excellent value retention of ATRs in the secondary market.

Avation recognizes the importance of low-emission, future-proof technology like the ATR 72 and its potential successor, the EVO.

Chatfield emphasized the alignment between this order and Avation’s long-term strategy, which prioritizes securing a steady supply of new, cost-effective regional aircraft.

ATR’s industry-leading fuel efficiency and low operating costs make the ATR 72-600 an attractive addition to any airline’s network.

Strengthened Partnership

Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, Chief Executive Officer of ATR, acknowledged the renewed trust from Avation as a testament to ATR’s dedication to continuous innovation.

This agreement strengthens the partnership between the two companies and reflects the enduring market demand for ATR aircraft.

Laude expressed ATR’s pride in contributing to Avation’s growth and success. The order aligns perfectly with ATR’s vision of accelerating sustainable connections and ensuring communities worldwide have access to quick, reliable, and responsible air travel.
