The flight was established on final approach for RWY04 New Ishigaki Airport (ISG) when flight crew reported the technical issue.

The approach was then discontinued and flight crew entered a holding procedure to run troubleshooting checks after conducting a go around. Following a period of holding, the operating crew elected to divert the aircraft to Naha International Airport (OKA), Okinawa.

The decision was made on the basis that the flight crew could take advantage of a longer runway at the alternate airport. The flight subsequently landed safely at Naha International Airport, just over one hour after executing a missed approach at Ishigaki.

Flight Details

Flight data shows that ANA flight NH91 had departed from Tokyo Haneda at 1157 local time on 10 September. The flight had then set course normally, climbing to flight level FL400 (40,000 feet) for the south-westerly service to Ishigaki.

Following the missed approach at the destination, flight crew conducted holding procedures at 2000 feet. Having conducted troubleshooting checks, they initiated the diversion to the alternate airport of Naha (OKA).
