American Airlines flight AA4168, the Envoy Air operated flight which declared an emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between Washington DCA and Key West.
The aircraft involved in this incident is N205NN.
As per data from Planespotters.net, N205NN is a 9.0 year old Embraer ERJ-175LR that started out life with Compass Airlines in June 2015.
Furthermore, this is where the relationship with American Airlines began through the Eagle subsidiary.
In June 2020, Envoy Air took over the contract for Eagle, where the aircraft has been since.
Furthermore, of the E175 variant, Envoy Air has 114 of them in the fleet, of which all but two are in active service.
Also, average fleet age for the variant at the airline stands at 6.5 years.
American Airlines flight AA4168 departed Washington DCA at 1253 local time today and initially climbed out to Key West.
Minutes after departure, the aircraft declared an emergency and proceeded to track east in order to get sequenced.
At the time of publication, the aircraft is still in the air following this declaration.
