Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident is N670AE.
As per data from Planespotters.net, N670AE is a 21.2 year old Embraer E145 that started out life with the carrier’s Eagle subsidiary back in March 2004.
The aircraft is operated for the U.S carrier by Piedmont Airlines, who took ownership of the contract in February 2023.
Of the Embraer E145 variant, American Airlines’ Eagle subsidiary has 93 of them in their fleet.
