American Airlines flight AA6175, operated by Air Wisconsin, bound for Kalamazoo declared an emergency and returned to Chicago O’Hare this week.

Information is limited surrounding this incident, but below is what we know on this so far.

American Airlines flight AA6175, operated by Air Wisconsin, bound for Kalamazoo declared an emergency and returned to Chicago O'Hare this week.

American Airlines flight AA6175, which declared the emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between Chicago and Kalamazoo.

Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was N455AW.

As per data from Planespotters.net, N455AW is a 21.0 year old Bombardier CRJ-200LR that was delivered to Air Wisconsin in October 2003.

The company has operated the aircraft for the following airlines in it’s lifetime:

Of that aircraft type, the company has 62 of them in their fleet.

Moreover, of that 62, 33 are in active service and 29 are parked, with an average fleet age of 22.0 years.

American Airlines flight AA6175, which declared the emergency, departed Chicago for Kalamazoo at 1745 local time on August 28.

Furthermore, the declaration occurred moments after departure, which prompted a u-turn back to O’Hare.

At 1824 local time, the aircraft landed safely without further incident.
