An American Airlines Airbus A321-200 operating from Austin, TX to Charlotte, NC diverted to Atlanta, GA after experiencing hydraulic problems on 14 November 2024.
American Airlines flight AA3285, operated by an Airbus A321-200, had departed from Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). The flight was a scheduled service to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT).

Whilst en route in the cruise approaching Georgia airspace, flight crew reported experiencing a hydraulic problem. As a result, they elected to make a precautionary diversion to Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
The aircraft was able to land safely on runway 09L at Hartsfield Jackson. However, the aircraft needed to be towed off the active runway due to the failure of its nosewheel steering.

Flight data shows that flight AA3285 had made an on-time departure out of Austin Bergstrom International Airport at 1004 local time on 14 November.
The flight and then set course normally, climbing to flight level FL350 (35,000 feet) for the north-easterly service to Charlotte.
The flight was in the cruise at FL350 when the decision was made to carry out the precautionary diversion. The aircraft was to the northwest of Atlanta when the diversion was made.
The aircraft conducting the AA3285 service from Austin was an Airbus A321-100, registered N140AN. This is a 9.4-year-old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier American Airlines.
It has been an operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in July 2015.
