Amazon Air 767 Charlotte-San Bernadino Declares Emergency

Amazon Prime Air flight 8C3392, a 767-300 Freighter operating from Charlotte to San Bernadino has declared an emergency and is on diversion

An Amazon Prime Air 767-300 Freighter operating from Charlotte, NC to San Bernadino, CA has declared an emergency whilst en route.

Amazon Prime Air flight 8C3392 declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 and is diverting to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG)

Diversion to Cincinnati (CVG)

Flight 8C3392, a scheduled freighter service to San Bernadino, declared the emergency whilst in cruising flight at FL340 (34,000 feet).

Flight crew then initiated a diversion northwards to Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

The nature of the emergency which prompted the off track diversion is not yet known.

Flight data shows that Amazon Prime Air flight 8C3392 departed Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) at 04:41 local time today.

The flight then proceeded normally, setting course for the destination San Bernadino International Airport (SBD).

The aircraft had then climbed to cruising level FL340. Flight crew then initiated the diversion whilst in transit over Tennessee airspace.

The aircraft conducting the 8C3392 rotation to San Bernadino was a Boeing 767-300F, registered N1049A. This is a 24.8 year old converted freighter belonging to the carrier Amazon Prime Air.

The aircraft has been in operational service with the air operator since January 2017.
