LONDON – National flag carrier Turkish Airlines today announced that it carried a cumulative figure of 44.8 million passengers, bringing their slogan “Widen Your World” to reality.
Despite the numbers being 40% below that of 2019 levels, but the airline is still optimistic as the brighter future awaits ahead, according to the statement published by the Airline in Turkiye’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).
The passenger load factor has been decreased by 13.8 points in comparison to that of 67.9% in pre covid times. The Turkish airlines managed to achieve 78.4% across its domestic network and 66.2% across the international network.
But on the other hand, the grass was much greener, as the airline reported 1.9 million tonnes of cargo traffic volume inclusive of the mail-in year 2021, a sharp rise of 21.7% to that of 2019.
Reporting to KAP, the airline also disclosed that, by the end of 2021, the airline has 370 fleets of mix types, and the airline is looking forward to brighter 2022, despite the ongoing crisis of Omicron transmission.
