LONDON – In the last few minutes, a TUI UK Boeing 737 MAX has declared an emergency over France whilst en route to London Gatwick from Sharm el-Sheikh.
BY407 is the flight in question being operated by G-TUMD.

It is unclear what the reason is for the general emergency, but we will keep you updated with its movements as the flight continues onwards to London Gatwick.
This is a developing story.

UPDATE #1 @ 2027 UK time – BY407 has begun its descent into the UK; Gatwick is still the assumed destination at the moment.

UPDATE #2 @ 2032 UK time – BY407 has now returned to its normal squawk code, indicating the emergency has come to an end, but we will continue to monitor in case anything changes.

UPDATE #3 @ 2046 UK time – BY407 has landed at London Gatwick safe and sound. Still questions about the cause of the emergency squawk in the first place.
