LONDON – TAP Air Portugal CEO Christine Ourmieres-Widener has said that the Airbus A330neo engine performance isn’t up to optimal standards.
This was mentioned during a TAP press event in Lisbon earlier today when questioned by journalists:
“The engine is not performing, but it’s no secret about the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000. [The manufacturer] is doing what they can to try and help, but performance is not where it should be”.
“[Could] some things be improved? Yes. But I think that all manufacturers are challenged by supply chain [issues] with parts everywhere”.
AviationSource has approached Rolls-Royce for comment on Widener’s quotes. At the time of publication, they are yet to respond to this.
AviationSource writer Thomas Saunders is in Lisbon today and will give a full overview upon his arrival back in the UK later tonight.
