IndiGoReach Wins Best Social Responsibility Award for Women’s Empowerment Program

LONDON – IndiGoReach, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of IndiGo won the Best CSR award at the 20th FICCI Corporate Social Responsibility Awards ceremony.

The award was presented for working towards empowering tribal women socio-economically and improving the livelihood of tribal communities in Assam-Meghalaya border areas.

IndiGoReach in partnership with Grameen Sahara has been working towards socio-economic empowerment of tribal women across 24 villages in Assam and Meghalaya.

Through the programme IndiGoReach has impacted 1,500 women farmers from for the promotion of spices, mainly, turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and king chilli.

Education and social aid


IndiGoReach constantly strives to address issues that span across initiatives they care about—everything from education to empowerment to social aid that reaches the people who need it the most.

And the solutions are as diverse as the issues at hand. Hence, IndiGo reach decided to partner with Grameen Sahara, as they come with extensive experience of working on livelihood promotion in the region.

Through this association, they have been able to work on providing institutional support to women by creating women farmers institutions by advocating best practices that will enhance the volume with consistent production for farmers.

About the Program


About this program in Assam-Meghalaya border: IndiGoReach has partnered with Grameen Sahara to support 1,670 women with income generation activities in 24 villages in Kamrup, Assam, and Ri Bhoi, Meghalaya.

The project seeks to promote spices mainly, turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and king chilli while providing comprehensive training on various agricultural techniques, technologies, and markets.

The key focus areas of the project include:

  • Providing institutional support to women by creating women farmers institutions
  • Adoption of practices by the farmers for the enhancement of the volume with consistent production
  • Adoption of improved post-harvest management practices by the farmers for creation of an opportunity in the entire spices value chain; and
  • Business development and creation of market linkages

About the Award


Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) CSR Awards were instituted in year 1999 by FICCI. The award aims to identify and recognize the efforts of companies in integrating and internalizing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The selection process for the FICCI CSR Awards is extremely competitive and is assessed by an eminent Jury through a 3-tier assessment process.

Nominations received are thoroughly scrutinized by CSR experts. Subsequently, a panel of invited CSR experts from institutions of repute conducts on-site assessment of the CSR work of the shortlisted companies.

The final selection for the Award is made by an Independent Jury comprising eminent personalities from different spheres.
