Airbus has released its delivery and order performance report for April 2025.
The European manufacturer delivered 56 commercial aircraft for the month, an 8% decrease compared to the previous year.
With a total of 192 deliveries year-to-date by the end of April, it suggests a slow start to 2025. However, Airbus has the potential to meet the annual target of around 820 aircraft if production ramps up.
Airbus April Performance

Airbus commercial aircraft operations delivered 56 aircraft to 33 customers worldwide for the month. This achievement contributed to a year-to-date total of 192 deliveries to 58 customers, reinforcing Airbus’ leading position.
Despite a slight 8% dip in deliveries compared to the previous year, the company celebrated a historic milestone in April. It saw the 12,000th delivery of its single-aisle A320 Family, a testament to the variant’s enduring market dominance.
Delivery Details
The April deliveries included a diverse mix of aircraft, with four A350s standing out. These comprised one A350-1000 for Etihad Airways and three A350-900s for Starlux Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and Delta Air Lines.
The A320neo Family, a cornerstone of Airbus’s portfolio, accounted for the bulk of deliveries, aligning with the company’s focus on fuel-efficient, single-aisle jets.
However, production of the A320neo in April reached 40 units, falling short of the target rate of 50 per month.
Airbus remains focused on scaling up production to 75 units per month by 2027, navigating ongoing supply chain challenges.

New Aircraft Orders
On the order front, Airbus secured 11 gross orders in April, with no cancellations reported. A highlight was China Airlines’ commitment to 10 widebody A350-1000s, signalling strong demand for the advanced long-haul aircraft.
This order bolsters the company’s backlog, which stood at 8,726 aircraft as of March 2025. The A350 program was capped at six units per month due to supply constraints with Spirit AeroSystems. Despite this, it is poised for growth, with plans to double production to 12 by 2028.
Looking Ahead
Airbus’ performance reflects its ability to balance ambitious goals with industry hurdles. Engine shortages and supply chain bottlenecks continue to challenge delivery timelines.
Despite this, the manufacturer reaffirmed its 2025 target of 820 aircraft. With a robust order book and strategic production increases, Airbus is well-positioned to meet global demand for sustainable aviation solutions.
As Airbus celebrates milestones like the A320 Family’s 12,000th delivery, its focus on innovation and reliability are key points.
The China Airlines order and steady delivery pace underscore confidence in Airbus’s future. Aviation enthusiasts and industry watchers can expect more progress as Airbus pushes toward its 2025 goals.
