airBaltic has announced a substantial recruitment initiative, seeking to fill over 150 positions across 28 distinct roles. The measure reflects the airline’s continued operational expansion.
The carrier’s drive targets a broad spectrum of aviation professionals, from flight crew to support personnel. The latest recruitment campaign signals a significant phase of growth for the Baltic airline.
Pilot Recruitment and Incentives
A key focus of the recruitment effort is the acquisition of qualified flight crew. airBaltic is actively recruiting Captains holding ICAO and EASA ATPL licenses.
It additionally seeks Senior First Officers for a fast-track command program, specifically for its Airbus A220-300 fleet.
To attract experienced pilots, the airline is offering substantial sign-up bonuses. The bonus system involves EUR 15,000 gross for Captains and EUR 10,000 gross for Senior First Officers. This is applicable to those who successfully complete the selection process and join before May 31, 2025.
In addition to flight crew, airBaltic is seeking personnel for critical operational roles, including Operations Control Centre Duty Supervisors and Flight Instructors for its training division.

Diversified Recruitment Across Departments
Beyond flight operations, the airline is expanding its workforce across various support departments. Open positions are available in Revenue Management, Information Technology, Finance, Technical, and Customer Care.
This represents a comprehensive approach to bolstering its operational capabilities.
Alīna Aronberga, Senior Vice President Human Resources at airBaltic, commented on the recruitment drive. “With the recent delivery of our 50th Airbus A220-300 and our ongoing network expansion, airBaltic is strategically increasing its professional workforce.”
“We are seeking both experienced professionals and those embarking on their aviation careers to join the leading airline in the Baltic region, offering competitive benefits and robust career development opportunities.”

Commitment to Talent Development
airBaltic’s commitment to fostering future aviation talent is evident through its continued participation in initiatives like Shadow Day 2025, scheduled for April 4, 2025.
This annual program provides schoolchildren with firsthand exposure to the aviation industry, aiming to inspire the next generation of professionals.
Furthermore, the airBaltic Pilot Academy continues to accept applications, providing a structured pathway for aspiring pilots.
With over 160 students currently enrolled and more than 130 graduates now serving as First Officers, the academy plays a crucial role in supplying the airline with qualified flight crew.
Strategic Expansion and Employment Growth
airBaltic, which currently employs over 2,800 individuals, has consistently been recognized as a top employer in national surveys, underscoring its commitment to employee satisfaction and professional development.
The airline’s current recruitment drive is designed to support its strategic network expansion. This spans operations over 130 routes from its hubs in Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and seasonally from Gran Canaria. The network connects the Baltic region to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus.
Interested candidates are encouraged to explore the available positions and application process via the airBaltic careers portal.
This recruitment initiative underscores airBaltic’s commitment to growth and its role as a key employer in the Baltic aviation sector.
